As described in my teaching statement, I am continually looking for ways to advance my teaching practices and reach more students. I see four distinct but interrelated aspects of my position as an instructor that comprise my scholarship related to teaching. Each of the following four links provides a more detailed description of my contributions in these areas.
- experimenting with innovative teaching practices in the classroom,
- participation in the education research community both within and beyond my institution,
- developing education research projects to support evidence based teaching
- dissemination and funding to communicate and support this research.
As depicted in the figure below, in my role as an instructor I see a cyclic characteristic to the process of scholarship of teaching, with no one single entry point but each component being driven by the others. While this and the related pages of this portion of my teaching dossier attempt to categorize my contributions in these areas, the casual dependancies between them introduce overlap. Where possible, I provide links to the relevant pages containing more detail.
